The third generation was additionally equipped with automatic valves. This allows the operator to “guided” execute all manual operations on the filter system such as rinsing, draining, filter cleaning, pre-coating with filter aids, and activated carbon powder automatically. Operating errors are therefore almost eliminated. The control sets the valves automatically for each mode of operation. The PLC is password protected, so the system remains accessible only to authorized personnel, and it can always be tracked who did what and when.

A package of data sets is constantly stored and provides information at a later date about flow rate, speed, pressure in the filter housings, dosing quantities, and valve positions. These data can then be evaluated accordingly and used for quality control.
